Shiv Tiwari

Shiv Tiwari

Chief Executive Officer

Shiv brings over 20 years of experience in agriculture and synthetic biology to drive the company’s mission of advancing innovative agricultural solutions. His leadership spans startups, mid-sized enterprises, and publicly traded companies, with previous roles at Intrexon Inc. (now Precigen), DuPont Pioneer (now Corteva), and Mendel Biotechnology, a Bayer-funded venture. Shiv also served as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Missouri, where his research on plant hormone auxin and developmental biology significantly advanced the field. With a Ph.D. in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MBA from Boston University, Shiv is leading GreenVenus to innovate at the forefront of agricultural biotechnology to meet the needs of modern agriculture.

Matteo Continella

Matteo Continella

Chief Commercial Officer

Matteo brings over a decade of experience in strategy and business development across the food and agriculture industry. His demonstrated expertise in specialty crops including berries, cherries, and avocado helps GreenVenus build innovative commercial partnerships and equips the organization to maximize our technology’s impact across multiple crops. Matteo joined GreenVenus from Ohalo Genetics, where he served as Director of Business Development. He previously held strategic roles at Apeel Sciences and Driscoll’s. A graduate of Bocconi University, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, as well as an MBA from Cornell University.

Jeff Touchman

Vice President, Product Strategy

With a passion for bridging science, technology, and commercialization, Jeff provides strategic and scientific expertise to drive successful product development and market entry at GreenVenus. His career spans regional and global leadership roles in both industry and academia, where he has contributed to advancements in genome engineering, trait discovery, and molecular breeding technology. He previously held research leadership positions at Monsanto, Intrexon, Sun World International, and Arizona State University. Jeff holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree from U.C. San Diego. Dedicated to engaging investors and the public to build support for our mission, he works to develop practical solutions that enhance agriculture for a healthier future.

Arianne Tremblay

Arianne Tremblay

Senior Director, Genomic Research and Development

Arianne brings deep expertise in plant science and gene editing to her leadership role at GreenVenus, where she oversees all gene editing initiatives. She was a key innovator behind the first gene-edited lettuce to reach the market and played a crucial role in developing cutting-edge technologies for crop improvement. Prior to joining GreenVenus, Arianne worked as a research scientist at Intrexon, where she helped advance gene regulation technologies across multiple crops. She also has a strong background in plant pathology, having spent five years at the USDA-ARS studying soybean rust and its impact on crops. With a Ph.D. in Biology from the Armand-Frappier Institute, Arianne combines scientific expertise with a passion for developing innovative solutions to agriculture’s grand challenges.

Carola Dowd

Carola Dowd

Senior Director, Research Operations

With extensive experience in scientific innovation and plant biotechnology, Carola leads GreenVenus’ operational platforms, overseeing laboratories and greenhouse operations. She focuses on enhancing operational efficiencies to accelerate the development of genetically engineered crops. Previously, she led operations at CTC Genomics, a sugarcane gene-editing company, and later evaluated ag-tech startups at the investment non-profit BioSTL. Her international experience includes developing transformation systems for maize and soybean at The Ohio State University and working on potato disease resistance at the International Potato Center (CGIAR-CIP) in Peru. Carola holds a Ph.D. in Plant, Insect, and Microbial Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an M.Sc. in Plant Pathology from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Tom Azevedo

Tom Azevedo

Director of Finance and Human Resources Manager

Blending financial expertise with a passion for operational excellence, Tom drives strategic growth and organizational success at GreenVenus as Director of Finance and Human Resources Manager. With a background spanning finance, operations, and business strategy, he has played a key role in scaling companies across diverse industries, including wine production, industrial manufacturing, and land management. Prior to GreenVenus, he helped grow a boutique winery from 10,000 to 90,000 case production while leading financial, distribution, and marketing functions. Tom holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Chico State University and has served on multiple private and community boards in California. Committed to fostering a strong company culture and sustainable growth, he ensures financial and operational strategies align with GreenVenus’ mission
